Film industry in shock after Tony Scott’s death
The film industry is in mourning this week following the tragic death of Tony Scott, the British-born director and producer famed for his high-impact Hollywood thrillers.
Scott, who jumped off a bridge in Los Angeles, broke through with titles like Top Gun and, more recently, directed the remake of The Taking Of Pelham One Two Three. He also produced the lavish TV mini-series World Without End. At the time of his death he had just finished another mini-series Coma.
Scott, brother of Ridley Scott, was one of the UK”s greatest contemporary movie-makers but is also remembered by his friends and colleagues as a charming and considerate man. He leaves behind his wife Donna Scott and twin sons.
