With the 64th Cannes Film Festival less than a month away (May 11-22), organisers have named the films that will be in competition this year. British interest will be focused on Director Lynne Ramsay, who will compete for the prestigious Palme d”Or with We Need to Talk About Kevin, her film adaptation of the Lionel Shriver novel (backed by BBC Films, starring Tilda Swinton and John C Reilly).

All told, 19 films are in contention for the Palme d’;Or, to be decided by a jury chaired by the iconic actor Robert De Niro.
