“Really excited to do another Channel 5 thriller, after the success of Coma”, Jason Watkins said.

Filming begins next month on Catch You Later (w/t), a new drama for Channel 5 starring Jason Watkins, Robson Green and Sunetra Sarker.

The 4 x 60’ series comes from Clapperboard, in association with Sphere Abacus who will distribute the series internationally.

The cat-and-mouse thriller centres on Huw Miller (Watkins), a police detective still haunted by the one case that he failed to solve – a stalker who taunted his town, toying with his victims before eventually murdering them.

As Huw attempts to settle into retirement, the case still plays on his mind and when a new neighbour, Patrick Harbottle (Green) moves in and utters the phrase ‘catch you later’ – the same words the stalker used to taunt Huw during the investigation – Huw is determined he’s finally found the killer.

Toby Frow will direct the series with Tom Grieves as writer. Mick Pantaleo is on board as producer. The executive producers are Paul Testar, Sebastian Cardwell, Rachel Gesua, Suzi McIntosh, Mike Benson, Jonathan Ford and Will Staple.

Testar said: “We’re thrilled to bring this trio of brilliant actors in Jason, Robson and Sunetra to this fantastic and compelling story. It’s a privilege to welcome Jason and Sunetra back to Channel 5 and we are delighted to have Robson in one of our dramas for the first time. We think the Channel 5 audience is going to love Tom Grieves’ fascinating cat and mouse thriller.”

Watkins added: “Really excited to do another Channel 5 thriller, after the success of Coma. This is a different prospect but has all the ingredients for another thrilling ride. So excited to work with Robson – and Sunetra. Another complex and fascinating script: so looking forward to beginning filming!”

Green commented: “I am so stoked to be working alongside Jason Watkins again on the new Channel 5 drama, ‘Catch You Later’. Jason is such a talented actor with a remarkable ability to bring depth and nuance to his characters. The psychological thriller aspect of the story promises to be a gripping ride, and I can’t wait to dive into the cat-and-mouse dynamics that Tom Grieve has crafted. It’s going to be an unforgettable journey!”
