Studio Lambert, the indie producer behind hit shows like Undercover Boss, has been commissioned by Channel 4 to produce a series based around online forum Mumsnet. Commissioned by C4”s Factual Entertainment Commissioner Dominique Walker, it will see mothers joining forces to offer support and parenting advice to each other.

According to C4, the show will focus on mums “at their wits end with challenging teens, toddlers and those in-between”. It will offer them the support of “a network of mums ready to share their own – sometimes unorthodox – tips and methods of parenting”. Walker added: “Modern mums are turning to peer-to-peer networks such as Mumsnet for support and advice and it is exactly the resource that this programme will utilise – the combined experience of mums.”

The commission is part of a wider trend which has seen audiences turn to real-life insights from real people, as opposed to advice from talking head presenters. Tentatively entitled The Bad Mums” Club, details on episodes and transmission dates have yet to be released by Channel 4.
