The darkly comic psychological thriller filmed entirely in Scotland with largely Scottish crew
Bella Ramsey and Daisy Haggard have wrapped filming in Scotland on Maya, a new C4 drama from Two Brothers Pictures.
Filmed entirely in Scotland with largely Scottish crew, the 6 x 60’ drama is written and created by Haggard, who also executive produces along with Two Brothers founders Harry and Jack Williams, Sarah Hammond, Alex Mercer and Daisy Mount. The series also marks Haggard’s directorial debut.
Kenny Tanner is producer, Jamie Donoughue is co-director and co-executive producer, Si Bell is DoP and the casting director is Shaheen Baig. Two Brothers Pictures is an All3Media company; the series is produced in association with All3Media International. The commissioning editor for Channel 4 is Gemma Boswell.
The darkly comedic psychological thriller also stars Tobias Menzies, Ben Chaplin, Raphel Famotibe, Josie Walker, Harriet Walter, Stuart Bowman, Tom Courtenay, Kiran Sonia Sawar, Serena Manteghi Wilson, Archie Backhouse, Paul Blair, Sonny Poon Tip, Finlay Shack, Max Fincham, Ash Hunter, Harry Hadden-Paton, Tori Allen-Martin and Isabele Derosa.
The plot centres on single mum Anna (Haggard) and her headstrong teenage daughter Maya (Ramsey) as they leave their London lives and Anna’s parents, Nancy (Walter) and George (Courteney) behind, taking on new identities and relocating to a small rural town in Scotland.
