BBC behemoth Doctor Who wraps S14 shoot

Russell T DaviesOne of the BBC’s longest-running flagship dramas, the behemoth Doctor Who, has wrapped its Series 14 shoot.

Showrunner Russell T Davies confirmed the production-status change on Instagram, captioning a photo of the cast and crew (right) with “That’s a wrap! @bbcdoctorwho”.

Filming began on S14 around Christmas 2022, and shot in various locations in south Wales and beyond, including Swansea, Cardiff, Newport and Bristol.

The show used to film at Roath Lock in Cardiff, but shifted its production base to Wolf Studios when Bad Wolf became a co-producer.

The fourteenth series marks Davies’ return to the drama as head writer and exec producer – his fifth outing as such – having previously worked on it from 2005-2010.

The new series will feature three special episodes starring David Tennant, to mark the show’s 60th anniversary. Ncuti Gatwa’s first episode as the Fifteenth Doctor will subsequently air over the same season. S4 also introduces Millie Gibson as the Doctor’s newest companion, Ruby Sunday.
