Series Three is currently in production in the UK

Apple TV+ has renewed dystopian drama Silo for a third and fourth series.

As revealed on The Knowledge in October, Series Three is currently in production at a UK studio which, together with the fourth run, will bring the story to a conclusion.

Based on Hugh Howey’s bestselling Silo trilogy, Wool, Shift and Dust, the sci-fi drama centres on a community of the last 10,000 people on earth who live in a giant silo beneath the surface to protect themselves from the toxic, fatal outside world. None of them knows why or when the silo was built, and those who try to find answers face a deadly outcome…

Showrunner and executive producer Graham Yost adapts the source material, with star Rebecca Ferguson also among the exec producers; the series shoots at Hoddesdon Studios in Hertfordshire. Silo also previously filmed at OMA One Film Studios; Series Three is filming there and at OMA X Film Studios in Enfield.

The double-series recommission was revealed on Apple TV+’s X feed, with several outlets including Variety and The Hollywood Reporter quoting the following statement from Yost: “It has been a richly rewarding experience to adapt Hugh’s epic novels with our partners at Apple and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this complete story to the screen over the course of four seasons.

“With the final two chapters of Silo, we can’t wait to give fans of the show an incredibly satisfying conclusion to the many mysteries and unanswered questions contained within the walls of these silos.”
