Submissions open for John Brabourne Awards

TV studioSubmissions are now open for the John Brabourne Awards (JBAs), the talent development programme which offers financial support to the UK”s emerging talent behind the scenes in film and television.

Administered by the Cinema and Television Fund (CTBF), the JBAs will once again award grants of up to £5,000 to individuals whose talent and drive may have been slowed by various hurdles – such as ill health or financial adversity – in progressing their careers.

There will be up to 12 recipients of the grants which, along with development support, aim to help the country”s top emerging talent fulfil their creative potential within the production industry.

Submissions are welcomed from individuals with at least two years” experience in any field behind the scenes in film and/or TV. Applicants should go to where they will find more details of the scheme. The deadline is 31 July 2016.

Last year”s successful applicants included writer-director Kat Wood, who said of the award: “Applying for a JBA was the best thing I could have done for my career last year. The support I received from the programme was phenomenal, acting as jet fuel for my career. I”d urge anybody in need of financial assistance and support to apply without hesitation.”
