Looking to find out how you can fund your next feature, short or documentary film? Then join The Knowledge this Thursday (27 Feb) at BVE in London where a panel of experts will discuss the various options available to UK talent.

In the current landscape finding funding for your film can be a difficult feat – both at the production as well as distribution stage. In order to get you on your way we have invited a panel of specialists who will be able to provide hands-on advice.

The session, entitled “Assessing the funding landscape: Knowing your options”, will be hosted by The Knowledge editor Alexandra Zeevalkink and will cover a variety of possibilities for funding your film.

The event will take place on Thursday 27 February at 3pm in the Producers’ Theatre at BVE in London’s Excel Centre and is free to attend (you can register here).

Providing you with tips and information on available funding methods will be:

• Kevin Dolan – Talent Development Manager at Film London

After being involved in the training side of the film industry for many years, Kevin joined Film London in 2005. There he is currently responsible for identifying, developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating training projects, and developing partnerships and funding to deliver talent development and training to the industry in London. He helped to establish the ground-breaking training support for the innovative Microwave feature film production scheme and Market Place – a programme of live events and seminars designed to educate filmmakers on the film value chain and support the sales sector.
 

• Luke Moody – BRITDOC Grants Officer

Luke Moody is Grants Officer at BRITDOC Foundation working across all BRITDOC Partnership Funds and BRITDOC Films distribution. Recently supported projects include 2014 Oscar nominations Dirty Wars and The Square.
 

• Caroline Cooper Charles – Senior Executive for Film Enterprise at Creative England

As an executive producer, Caroline’s credits include Andrea Arnold’s Oscar-winning Wasp and Xiaolu Guo’s She, A Chinese, winner of the Golden Leopard at Locarno Film Festival 2009. In addition to her work with emerging writing and directing talent at her production company, Universal Spirits, she was previously responsible for a diverse slate of low-budget feature films at Warp X, including Hush, All Tomorrow’s Parties and Bunny and the Bull.
 

• Claire Oakley – Filmmaker

Claire made a short – Physics – with Film London in 2012  and then went on to make two more shorts in 2013. One – Tracks – was through the Collabor8te scheme  and the other – James – was with funding from the Wellcome Trust. You can find more info about Claire and her work on her website.
