New BBC One Agatha Christie gears up
The next in a series of seven planned Agatha Christie adaptations for the BBC is now gearing up to film later this year.
The ABC Murders comes once again from prolific production company Mammoth Screen: it was also responsible for Ordeal by Innocence, the first in the proposed run of seven that is part of the unique production deal between BBC One and Agatha Christie Productions.
Mammoth has form when it comes to adapting the work of the best-selling doyenne of crime fiction, having previously produced And Then There Were None and The Witness for the Prosecution.
The ABC Murders centres on the much-loved Hercule Poirot as he faces a race against time to solve a series of murders in 1930s England.
Production Intelligence subscribers can log in for the name of the producer on The ABC Murders and should follow the project to receive updates as more is confirmed.
Mammoth is also busy on several other projects currently, including the first British TV adaptation of sci-fi classic The War of the Worlds that begins filming soon in Liverpool and Cheshire.
