adam&eveDDB win big at Cannes Lions

London advertising agency adam&eveDDB has been awarded its fourth Grand Prix prize at Cannes Lions for its Harvey Nichols Christmas advert, Sorry I Spent It on Myself.

Launched November last year, the tongue-in-cheek campaign was awarded the Grand Prix in the Film, Promo & Activation and Press categories. In addition, adam&eveDDB was awarded a bronze lion for its Bear and The Hare campaign for John Lewis. And if that wasn’t enough, the agency was also crowned Agency of the Year.

The Harvey Nichols ‘anti-Christmas’ commercial was an amusing festive offering, featuring people giving their nearest and dearest cheap gifts such as 100% real wood toothpicks, a water-resistant sink plug and authentic Lincolnshire gravel.

Other commercials that won at the annual festival, which celebrates the creative communications industry, included Volvo’s campaign featuring Jean Claude Van Damme performing the splits while standing between two moving trucks. To date, the online spot has amassed over 70 million hits on YouTube.
