Foster’s Revives Fast Show For Its Website

Heineken-owned lager brand Foster”s has been doing interesting work in the online content space, funding the resurrection of various comedic careers.
The most recent example is the news it is funding a web-based revival of The Fast Show, a sketch show which was a hit for the BBC around a decade ago.

Under the terms of the deal, Fast Show creators Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson will deliver a new set of sketches on www.fostersfunny.co.uk.

Commenting, Whitehouse and Higson said: “We are delighted to bring back the Fast Show not only for our old fans but also, we hope, for a generation of new ones. We”ll be bringing back our most popular characters and we”ve managed to get the majority of the team together, including Caroline Aherne.”

The Foster”s site has also hosted Mid Morning Matters with Alan Partridge and Vic & Bob”s Afternoon Delights. The former is reckoned to have attracted 3 million viewers on the web last year.

Commenting on the latest deal, Foster”s marketing manager Gayle Harrison said: “The Fast Show is one of Britain”s best-loved TV comedy shows and is famous for bringing innovative, fast-paced sketches to our screens. We”re delighted by our collaboration with the team and look forward to bringing exciting new material to millions of Foster”s fans.” The first Fast Show content goes up on November 14th.
