Production Spotlight – Compass Travel Management: one year on
One Year On: Compass Travel Management Continues to Grow Across the Creative Industries, and Opens International Office:
Twelve months ago, Compass Travel Management featured in The Knowledge as Wales’s first dedicated travel management company specialising in the TV, film, media and sporting sectors. Since then and now reaching our 6th year running, the business has continued to grow, supporting an increasing number of productions, agencies and creative organisations across the UK and internationally.
Compass is excited to open its international offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Over the past year the company has grown its client base and operational reach, regularly supporting productions and creative projects across Bristol, London and Manchester while building its presence in international markets. Founded to provide a specialist, round‑the‑clock travel and accommodation service for industries that don’t operate within traditional office hours, Compass remains focused on what it does best — looking after the people behind the production
This growth has been supported by the continued development of the Compass team, strengthening the company’s ability to deliver the responsive, personalised service that clients have come to rely on. Despite its growth, the business remains committed to maintaining the hands-on approach that has become a hallmark of its service.
The film and television sector continues to be a significant part of Compass’ portfolio, with the team managing complex travel and accommodation requirements for productions of all sizes. From lead cast and key creatives to technical departments, supporting artists and production teams, Compass continues to provide end-to-end solutions throughout every stage of production. However, the business has also seen growing demand from adjacent creative sectors. Alongside film and television, Compass is increasingly supporting commercial productions, advertising campaigns, branded content projects and wider media organisations, providing the same level of flexibility and logistical expertise that production teams require in fast-moving environments.
As productions become more ambitious and increasingly international in scope, the need for reliable travel management has never been greater. Whether coordinating accommodation blocks, negotiating rates, arranging international travel or responding to last-minute schedule changes, the Compass team works as an extension of the production office, helping clients save valuable time and remain focused on delivering their projects.
The company continues to provide 24/7 support, recognising that production schedules rarely fit neatly within standard business hours. Agility remains at the core of the service, with teams able to respond quickly to changing rooming lists, revised call sheets, location moves and evolving production requirements.
While The Knowledge readership will know Compass primarily for its work within film and television, the company also continues to support clients across the sporting sector, managing travel logistics for teams, governing bodies and sporting events both in the UK and overseas. Looking ahead, Compass Travel Management remains focused on sustainable growth, expanding its industry partnerships and supporting an increasingly diverse range of productions and creative projects. The company’s mission remains unchanged: delivering seamless travel and accommodation solutions that allow productions to concentrate on creating exceptional work.
As the team often says, they are still proudly “the crew behind the crew” – only now supporting more productions, in more places, than ever before.
