Ray Winstone will star in a Prime Video UK & Ireland action comedy from The Assassin indie Two Brothers Pictures.

The 6 x 60-minute Danger Money is created by the writers of Lee Mack’s BBC2 sitcom Semi-Detached, David Crow & Oliver Maltman, who will also serve as exec producers.

The star of The Gentlemen Winstone will play Alan ‘Razor’ Sharp, a former SAS operative haunted by a botched mission in the ‘90s. He is pulled back into his old world with a job in Italy too good to refuse, only to become embroiled with a violent conspiracy involving hidden war spoils, forcing him to go on the run.

Other exec producers are Harry and Jack Williams, Sarah Hammond, Alex Mercer and Katie Churchill for Two Brothers. The director is Carl Tibbetts (Black Mirror).

Crow and Maltman will write the first two and final episodes, with Iain Hollands writing episodes three and four while also serving as a co-executive producer, and Ryan O’Sullivan and Matilda Wnek writing episode five.

The producer is Mick Pantaleo and Aisha Bywaters will serve as casting director.

Crow and Maltman said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing Danger Money to Amazon audiences, with screen icon Ray Winstone as the unforgettable Razor Sharp – a new breed of hero, whose Special Forces training and thirst for justice is somewhat hampered by his soaring blood pressure and sciatic spasms.

“We couldn’t think of a better home for the show or a more perfect team than Two Brothers to bring it to life.”

Jack and Harry Williams, founders and managing directors of All3Media label Two Brothers, said: “David and Oliver have conjured up something brilliant in Danger Money. We’re so excited to bring it to the screen with Prime Video and the legend that is Ray Winstone.”

Two Brothers will produce the series in association with All3Media International, with production set to commence later this year. Halo Pictures is the Maltese service company.

Two Brothers is also behind BBC1 thrillers Boat Story and The Tourist.
