Dan Isaacs lands group-wide role at Sister

COO becomes executive director at scripted indie and will also help steer strategy for wider Sister Group

Sister’s long-term chief operating officer Dan Isaacs is to segue into an expanded role at the Black Doves indie.

Isaacs will become executive director at production company Sister Pictures, working alongside Sister creative chief Jane Featherstone and Sister Pictures managing director Chris Fry on the indie’s strategic and commercial direction.

Commercial director Laura Crowley and director of finance and operations Matt Wesley will assume Isaacs’ COO responsibilities.

For Sister Group, which includes indies Dorothy Street, South of the River Pictures, Yes Yes Media and recent acquisition After Party Studios, Isaacs will serve as a strategic advisor, supporting chief executive Lucinda Hicks and group COO Chris Fry (who shares the same name with the Sister Pictures MD) in growing and developing the company.

Featherstone said: “This move means all of Sister can better benefit from Dan’s judgement, acumen and all-round brilliance.

“It’s been in planning for a while, and though we will see less of Dan day-to-day in one office, he isn’t going anywhere. It’s a natural evolution for him, for Laura and Matt, and timely as the group expands.”

Isaacs added: “It is a genuine privilege to be able to take on new responsibilities at such a fascinating time for Sister and the industry and still getting to work with the team that I have for over two decades.

“I look forward to bringing through the next generation of Sister Pictures leaders in Laura and Matt, helping to grow the wider Sister group business and learning some new things along the way.”

Hicks said: “Dan’s commercial instincts are second to none, and his experience in scaling creative-led businesses are invaluable as we build Sister out yet more as a truly cross-media, creatively diverse group.”

Isaacs is a founding shareholder of Sister Pictures, alongside Featherstone. He became  COO in 2016, steering finance, commercial, legal and operational aspects of the business.

Prior to Sister, he spent 13 years at Kudos in various senior roles including managing director, COO and chief exec.
