Killing Eve and Vigil producers join ITV and Channel 5 drama chiefs at Broadcast Summit

Event will also deliver a series of AI production case studies and offer 1-2-1 meetings with commissioners

The producers behind Killing Eve, Vigil and All Her Fault will join ITV’s Polly Hill and 5’s Seb Cardwell for a high-calibre session on the drama sector at the Broadcast Summit.

Sally Woodward Gentle (Sid Gentle), Simon Heath (World Productions) and Nigel Marchant (Carnival Films) will share the stage with the two PSB drama bosses to discuss the creative and commercial trends shaping the genre.

Production inflation, the appetite for new writing talent, the battle for IP and the buying priorities for the two broadcasters will be among the topics discussed. The session is sponsored by OMA Studio Group.

The panel is part of a wider line up of sessions at the Broadcast Summit on 15 April, which has more than 40 major industry speakers. The event takes place at 1 Wimpole St, W1, and comprises two streams of content. For a list of speakers and the programme in full, please click here.

Another session at the summit will showcase a series of examples of how AI is being used effectively and creatively in production.

FirstLookTV co-founder Will Hanrahan will discuss its award-winning Sky History series Killer Kings, while IWC Media creative director Mark Downie will unpack 5’s Queen Victoria and John Brown. In addition, ITV Studios director of production (non-scripted) Helen Killeen will discuss the various ways the superindie is employing the technology across its indies and programming.

The summit also offers delegates the chance to apply for 1-2-1 meeting slots with commissioners from the likes of Channel 4, BBC, UKTV and 5, as well as several acquisitions execs from distributors. Click here to see the execs confirmed for 1-2-1 meetings.
