Damson Idris stars in Bad Wolf Netflix thriller The Lords’ Day
House of Cards author Michael Dobbs has penned the spy series
Industry indie Bad Wolf is to adapt Michael Dobbs’ spy novel The Lords’ Day for Netflix.
The six-part series stars British-Nigerian actor Damson Idris (Snowfall), who will also serve as an exec producer.
The series, dubbed a “fast-paced action thriller” by Netflix, follows British spy Harry Jones (Idris) who finds himself locked down in a siege inside Parliament, forced to use his training to save his country.
Production will begin this year, with Bad Wolf chief exec Jane Tranter and managing director Dan McCulloch to exec produce. Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley (Humans) will serve as lead writers and exec producers while Ben Chanan (The Capture, The Missing) will direct and also exec produce.
Bad Wolf is also behind current BBC1 period drama The Other Bennet Sister, as well as Red Eye, Dope Girls and Sky’s A Discovery of Witches.
Idris first rose to global prominence with his role in FX’s hit crime series Snowfall, where he also served as a producer. He will also appear in Gina Prince-Bythewood’s upcoming Paramount feature Children of Blood and Bone.
Dobbs’ previous work, House of Cards, was adapted into the hugely successful Netflix series of the same name, one of the streamer’s earliest originals.
