Ric Roman Waugh is directing Jason Statham’s latest action-thriller in London

Jason Statham is currently in production in the UK and Ireland on an untitled action-thriller directed by Ric Roman Waugh.

Alongside Statham, the cast includes newcomer Bodhi Rae Breathnach, Bill Nighy, Naomi Ackie and Daniel Mays. The script was penned by Ward Parry, with revisions by Christian Contreras and Parry.

Baltasar Kormákur was initially set to direct but later exited.

Producers for the film include Statham for Punch Palace Productions, John Friedberg for Black Bear, Brendon Boyea for Cinemachine, and Jon Berg and Greg Silverman for Stampede Ventures. Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler serve as executive producers for Black Bear.

Waugh’s recent credits include Greenland and its sequel, Greenland: Migration, that also filmed in the UK, at Shinfield Studios.

Among the cast, newcomer Breathnach has recently gained attention for her role in the BBC series The Capture and is set to appear in the upcoming adaptation of Hamnet.

Black Bear is an independent studio that produces and distributes global film and television content, with offices in Los Angeles and London. The company is known for films such as The Imitation Game and Mudbound, with upcoming projects including Sing Sing and Scott Frank’s series Monsieur Spade.

Punch Palace Productions was founded by Statham in 2022, with recent credits including UK-filmed features Levon’s Trade and The Beekeeper.
