Mystery thriller After the Flood has been greenlit for a second series at ITV.

The 6 x 60’ drama is from Nicola Shindler’s Quay Street Productions (in association with ITV Studios) and writer Mick Ford with BritBox International as co-production partners.

The main cast – Sophie Rundle, Philip Glenister, Lorraine Ashbourne, Nicholas Gleaves and Matt Stokoe – will all return for the new series.

Filming takes place in and around Derbyshire and Greater Manchester next year. The executive producers for Quay Street Productions are Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee, Huw Kennair-Jones for ITV, writer Ford and Robert Schildhouse and Stephen Nye for BritBox International. Fiona McAllister produces and Azhur Saleem returns to direct episodes 1-3.

Executive producers Shindler and Fee said: “We are delighted to be making another series of After The Flood following the great response to series 1 from ITV viewers. With the same fantastic actors and brilliant Mick Ford’s scripts, we are excited to give the audience another opportunity to revisit the characters’ stories with a whole new murder mystery at the core of series 2.”

Schildhouse, president BritBox North America and general manager BritBox International said: “After the Flood was a top performing series when it premiered on BritBox across our markets. Anchored by the expertise of Nicola Shindler & Richard Fee at Quay Street, Mick Ford’s moving writing and Sophie Rundle’s compelling performance, we know BritBox viewers will be captivated by the new season.”
