The father and son duo also co-wrote the screenplay.
Daniel Day-Lewis has marked his return to acting with a starring role in Anemone, the feature debut by his son Ronan Day-Lewis, currently filming in Manchester.
The role in Anemone is the actor’s first since Phantom Thread in 2017, and sees him among a cast including Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, Samuel Bottomley and Safia Oakley-Green.
Focus Features and Plan B are partnering on the feature, that is co-written by the father and son duo. It explores the intricate relationships between fathers, sons and brothers, and the dynamics of familial bonds.
Ben Fordesman is the DoP; Jane Petrie costume designer and Chris Oddy is on board as production designer.
Focus Features chairman, Peter Kujawski said: “We could not be more excited to partner with a brilliant visual artist in Ronan Day-Lewis on his first feature film alongside Daniel Day-Lewis as his creative collaborator. They have written a truly exceptional script, and we look forward to bringing their shared vision to audiences alongside the team at Plan B.”
