Production underway on Paramount+ thriller
Production gets underway in Bristol this week on The Crow Girl, a new thriller for Paramount+ from Buccaneer Media.
The series is adapted from the Crow Girl books by Erik Axl Sund, the portmanteau pen name of Swedish authors Jerker Eriksson and HÃ¥kan Axlander Sundquist.
The Crow Girl trilogy received the ‘Special Award’ from the Swedish Academy of Crime Writers in 2012.
The story centres on Detective Superintendent Jeanette Kihlberg, who turns to psychotherapist Sofia Zetterlund for help to catch a serial killer, unravelling a series of shocking past events.
E V Crowe is adapting the book with writers Lydia Mulvey, Laura Lomas and Milly Thomas also on board. Tony Wood and Richard Tulk-Hart exec produce; PI subscribers can log in for more details.
Buccaneer’s previous commission for Paramount+, The Burning Girls, starring Samantha Morton and Ruby Stokes, premiered in the autumn. The production company has a busy development slate, including an adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s The Blade Artist.
