Finding Alice commissioned by ITV

ITV logo Finding Alice, a contemporary drama about a woman coping with the sudden death of her husband, has been commissioned by ITV.

The 6 x 60 series will be produced by Red Production Company in association with Bright Pictures TV, Buddy Club Productions and Genial Productions.

It has been created by Roger Goldby, Simon Nye and Keeley Hawes and is written by Goldby and Nye.

The darkly comic story follows Alice’s journey of grief – and the aftermath of secrets and debt she uncovers - after her husband, Harry, falls down the stairs when they move into their newly-finished dream house.

Margot Gavan Duffy produces with Nicola Shindler exec producing alongside Goldby, Nye and Hawes. Goldby and Juliet May will direct three episodes each when filming begins in January 2020.

Shindler said of the commission: “When Keeley, Roger and Simon came to me with Finding Alice I was so excited to find a project about a complex, flawed and funny woman in such extreme circumstances who I felt an audience would fall in love with.

“This is exactly the kind of drama I love to make at Red and look forward to starting shooting.”
