Damian Lewis films vampire comedy The Radleys
Filming begins today, 5 June on The Radleys, a new feature film starring and executive produced by Damian Lewis.
The supernatural black comedy is based on Matt Haig’s novel; Jo Brand developed it as a film with a screenplay by Talitha Stevenson. Heartstopper and Dream Horse director Euros Lyn is at the helm.
Debbie Gray produces for her company Genesius Pictures while Lewis exec produces for his prodco Ginger Biscuit Entertainment.
The Radleys centres on a seemingly ordinary family – who are actually vampires. The parents, Helen and Peter, are ‘abstainers’, ie vampires who choose not to drink blood despite their cravings, while their teenage children, Clara and Rowan, have more of a traditional vampire taste…
Lewis plays dual roles – that of Peter and also his twin brother, Uncle Will, a swaggering, hedonistic, practicing vampire.
Debbie Gray’s recent credits include Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, which won multiple nominations at various awards, including Best British Independent Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Joint Lead Performance at the British Independent Film Awards in December 2022.
