Channel 4 orders Mend It For Money
Channel 4 has commissioned Mend It For Money from Chalkboard Television, an hour-long look at the world of restoration and collectibles.
The show will come from a specially created hub, a former steel works in Glasgow called The Engine Works in Glasgow, and combines competitive high-end restorations with social history.
For each of the restorations featured in the show, two of the UK’s top craftspeople will pitch their ideas about how to bring the objects back to life and how to get the maximum profit when the item is sold.
The exec producer for Chalkboard is Mike Benson, the series producer and director is Simon Cooper. Olivia Simove produces.
Kate Thomas, commissioning editor, Channel 4 Daytime said: “Mend It For Money brings our audience gorgeous high end-end restorations, but with a big twist, as our team of restorers pitch against each other to get the job – and share the profit!
“The show is beautifully shot and has a distinctively Channel 4 flavour, due in part to its warm and diverse cast of restorers, all of whom are completely new to TV and yet utterly brilliant.”
