The Traitors returns for Series Two
The BBC has greenlit the return of hit show The Traitors, hosted by Claudia Winkleman and comprising 12 x 60 episodes.
The ratings for the reality competition format have reached 34m on BBC iPlayer to date, making it the biggest new-entertainment launch for the BBC for two years.
The Studio Lambert-produced show is filmed in Ardross Castle, Scotland, where 22 strangers vie to win £120,000, with trust regularly tested and backstabbing a regular feature. It is based on the original Dutch show De Verraders.
Stephen Lambert, CEO of Studio Lambert, said: “We were delighted so many viewers of BBC One and BBC iPlayer loved the first season. They told us they enjoyed the drama and entertainment of watching our players judge each other, often leaping to false conclusions, but also forming alliances and real friendships. We’re excited to be making a second season with Claudia as together we build on the success of the first.”
The executive producers for Studio Lambert Scotland are Mike Cotton, Sarah Fay and Toni Ireland, and the production executive is Abi Lambrinos.
