Filming begins on Trigger Point S2

Filming begins today, 13 February, on the second 6 x 60 series of ITV drama Trigger Point, from Jed Mercurio’s HTM Television and writer Daniel Brierley. 
 

Vicky McClure reprises her role of Lana ‘Wash’ Washington, who works for the Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad as a bomb disposal operative or ‘Expo’.
 

McClure (pictured above, with Mercurio) attended the script read-through last week (pictured below). Nearly 11 million viewers watched the first episode of Trigger Point with the the first series averaging 9.5 million viewers per episode.
 

Mercurio said at the time of the recommission news: “Everyone at HTM Television is thrilled by the success of Trigger Point. Thanks to all our brilliant cast and crew and especially to the viewers who watched in such large numbers. We’ve received unswerving support from ITV throughout the production and we are delighted to have been commissioned for a second series.”
 

Brierley added: “I’m honoured and excited to be given the chance to continue Lana’s story. I feel there’s many more twists and turns in her future. It’s been thrilling to see how the public have responded to our show and I can’t wait to see what they will make of the next instalment!”
