UK filming begins on Venom 2
Principal photography has begun in the UK on Venom 2, the follow-up film starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, an investigative journalist with superhuman powers.
Michelle Williams returns as Brock’s ex-fiancée Anne Weying with Andy Serkis calling the shots from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel – who also wrote the first film.
Venom was the first feature in Sony’s Marvel Universe. Directed by Ruben Fleischer and filmed largely in New York and Atlanta, it went on to take more than $850m worldwide.
Hardy recently finished exec-producing a new iteration of A Christmas Carol, with Guy Pearce as Scrooge and Stephen Graham as Jacob Marley. The drama will air on BBC One this Christmas.
