Filming begins on Jamie feature
An 11-week shoot begins today on Everybody’s Talking About Jamie on location in Sheffield.
The feature film is inspired by a documentary in 2011 that which was subsequently turned into a musical. The programme followed 16-year-old Jamie New as he faced prejudice and bullying before finally coming out at as ‘Fifi’ at his school prom.
New Regency, Film4 and Warp Films’ feature reunites the creative team behind the stage production: director Jonathan Butterell, writer Tom MacRae, composer Dan Gillespie Sells and choreographer Kate Prince.
Max Harwood plays Jamie alongside co-stars Sarah Lancashire, Richard E. Grant and Sharon Horgan.
Warp Films has recently enjoyed huge critical acclaim for its Shane Meadows-directed drama The Virtues.
