Pre-production got underway this week on Marcella, a multi-stranded crime drama from the writer of The Bridge, Hans Rosenfeldt.

The 8 x 60 Nordic style series, which is due to begin filming in London in early November, is the author’s first exclusively created drama for the UK and is from Buccaneer Media for ITV.

Co-created by Nicola Larder, Marcella centres on a detective in her late 30s, who returns to work at the Met after a 12-year career break to work – solo – on a serial murder case. The executive producers are Rosenfeldt, Larder and Tony Wood of Buccaneer Media.
