Tim Burton”s Dumbo film flies to UK
Disney is set to continue its run of live-action revivals of animated features with Dumbo, set to film in the UK in 2017. Tim Burton will be in the director”s chair.
The original cartoon version was released in 1941 and centred on the baby elephant whose oversized ears made him the subject of ridicule among the other circus elephants, but who later becomes a media star as his ears enable him to fly.
Subscribers to Production Intelligence can log in for details on the UK studio and key hires including the casting director, UPM, production designer, location manager and production co-ordinator.
Dumbo will follow in the footsteps of Disney”s live-action version of Beauty and the Beast, which filmed at Shepperton last year and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, currently in production in the UK. The Mouse House is also lining up UK shoots for Mary Poppins Returns and Cruella.
All these projects are listed on PI so subscribers should follow them to receive email alerts as more details are confirmed. Non-subscribers can click here for a free demo.
