Pinewood Studios revises expansion plans as public consultation announced
The mixed-use development plans would combine the creative and digital sectors
Pinewood Group has announced a public consultation on a parcel of land to the south of the existing Pinewood Studios site with a view to future development.
The mixed-use expansion project would incorporate additional soundstages and production facilities, as well as a data centre, combining the screen sector with digital technologies.
David Conway, CEO Pinewood Group, said: “We are a dynamic business in a fast-moving industry, and we are committed to invest in the ongoing expansion of Pinewood Studios.
“The reduction in global content production, combined with rising construction costs and business rates, triggered a review of our existing planning consent and we believe the revised proposals provide a credible alternative.”
A period of local public consultation will commence on 25 – 27 February 2025 to begin community dialogue about the development options for the site.
