Eurostar Opens The Way With New TV Commercial

This week”s stand-out TV ad campaign comes from Eurostar, which has used its association with the London 2012 Olympic Games as a way to alert people to its expansion beyond the UK , France and Belgium.

The ad, called Trainstorming, sees British pop star Jarvis Cocker, French film director Michel Gondry and Belgian popstar Arno Hintjens, sititng on a train imagining what the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics may look like.

It broke in the UK on October 1st (during ITV1”s The X Factor) and is airing across Europe (in English with French sub-titles). In the ad, the three central characters imagine the Olympics stadium as a kind of Roman stadium.

The ad”s strapline is Opening The Way, which is partly about the fact Eurostar is expanding but also intended to encourage a culturally curious mindset.
