Argo will facilitate the UK side of the UK-South Africa co-production.

Richard Johns’ Argo Films has boarded Finally Home (w/t), the forthcoming feature adaptation of Johannes Radebe’s best-selling memoir.

It was announced earlier this year that Arrested Industries, the UK/US content development, financing and production company run by Anthony Kimble, and long-term collaborator Helena Spring Films, had acquired the rights to the memoir, Jojo: Finally Home.

Helena Spring Films will run physical production in South Africa while Argo will facilitate the UK side.

Johns said: “Johannes’ story is so full of joy and life that I found the project completely irresistible and therefore couldn’t be more thrilled to work with Anthony and Helena on bringing this uplifting memoir to the screen.

“They are an incredible pairing, used to working together, but have quickly made me feel welcome as part of the team. A truly collaborative approach, similar mindset, and ambition for this project will continue to ensure we complement each other and use our respective skills and contacts to take this wonderful project to the next stage.”

Finally Home (working title) is not being developed as a musical, but will include big dance numbers.
