How to stay on top of the latest film and TV productions?
With more inward investment than ever in feature film and high-end TV drama in the UK, budgets, sets and crews are getting bigger, creating more opportunity for those working in the industry. But how do you stay on top of all that is happening?
Big film projects often employ thousands – according to IMDb Pro, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them took on 1,967 people while high-end TV dramas like The Crown can see several hundred people on set at any one time.
Art departments alone can have teams of around 60 people, while visual effects professionals often total well over one hundred on big-budget features.
Production Intelligence (PI), the online database of productions across feature film, high-end TV drama, entertainment shows and factual content is often credited with being a vital resource for budget-holders, planners and key decision-makers in film or TV, but it is also invaluable for those in the practical part of production and post-production.
With BVE just around the corner, we thought it a good time to remind our readers that Production Intelligence will be there, along with The Knowledge and KFTV, at Stand R57, Excel London.
BVE runs at Excel from 28 February until 2 March, and is aimed at anyone in the broadcast, production and post-production sectors.
It”s important to know what stage these productions are at to know when to make an approach, and to whom, which is one of the aims of Production Intelligence.
Our site will also give you background on the previous work of key hires so you can be armed with as much information as possible when planning to contact decision-makers.
In 2016, nearly 250 feature films and high-end TV dramas were added to Production Intelligence, part of a total of around 1300 productions added across all genres during the same twelve months.
To learn more about how PI could help further your career, come along to Stand R57 at BVE, 28 Feb-2 March. It will be the perfect place to try out PI’s service and find out more about how we can help you make the most of today’s market.
