The shoot has taken in a variety of UK locations, including historic streets in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Filming has wrapped on Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, having been shooting in the UK for several months.

The director took to X (formerly known as Twitter) yesterday, 30 September, to confirm the end of filming, referring to the Netflix project as ‘F’. He has been calling the shots from his own screenplay, adapted from Mary Shelley’s classic Gothic novel.

The film’s starry cast includes Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Christoph Waltz and Mia Goth. The director has called Frankenstein his ’favourite novel in the world’, with this new iteration reportedly around a decade in the making.

Frankenstein has utilised many UK locations, with filming taking place in the historic streets of Edinburgh (including Canongate on the Royal Mile) and Glasgow (the cathedral). Other UK locations included Aberdeenshire (Dunecht, a stately home), London and Burghley House in Lincolnshire. Filming also took place in Toronto.
