MPTS 2024 – a Production preview

As the Media Production & Technology Show approaches, we bring you a preview of some of the Production-themed sessions on Day One. Don’t miss out on hearing all that these industry experts have to say; register now

This year’s show is on 15 and 16 May at Olympia London’s Grand Hall.


The Production sessions kick off with State of the Nation: Production at 11am. This 40-minute panel session will centre on the production landscape after a difficult year, looking at industry trends, challenges, and opportunities. There will be discussions around strategies for staying competitive in a changing world.

At 11.50 on Day One is Mastering the Art of Documentary Storytelling, offering an in-depth exploration of the art of documentary storytelling, providing attendees with invaluable insights and skills to excel in this dynamic field. 

Marian McHugh chairs, with the panel comprising: Jamie Lochhead, creative director – Windfall Scotland; Adam Luria, head of documentary – Impossible Factual; Ali Lycett, head of production – Candour Productions; Anna Davies, executive producer, Development – Arrow Media. 


Through the Lens of Cinematography is also a 40-minute session, offering insights into the art of visual storytelling, including making creative decisions on set.

Live Event Production Masterclass, in the afternoon on Day One, explores the world of live broadcast events, from pre-production planning to on-air execution.

At 14. 20 on 15 May, there is a session called BAFTA albert Sustainability Series: Planning for 2030 – Steps to a Sustainable Supply Chain

With broadcasters and funders all intending to meet ambitious sustainability targets on and off screen, in this session we explore what this means for the supply chain.
