The Grand Tour to film in Cotswolds

The Grand TourStudio scenes for the second series of Jeremy Clarkson’s motoring show The Grand Tour will be filmed from a studio base in the Cotswolds.

Amazon made a point of shooting these scenes around the world for the first series, erecting temporary filming spaces in exotic locations.

However, co-presenter Richard Hammond was injured in a car stunt while filming the show in Switzerland over the summer, and Clarkson himself came down with a bout of pneumonia only a few weeks later.

These developments appear to have convinced the producers that all the studio segments for the new series are best shot in the UK.

“It’s clear that the most popular Grand Tour element of the show is when the chaps are roaming the globe on their big adventures and road trips, so that’s what we’re doing a lot more of for this series,” said Andy Wilman, the show’s executive producer

“We’ll keep the studio in one place and given how accident prone they are at the minute, that can only be a good thing!”

The first series of The Grand Tour launched on Amazon Prime Video in November last year. The streaming company reported that it was the site’s biggest-ever show premiere, although, as has become typical of SVOD services, no specific figures were released.
