Humans renewed for Series 3

Humans Channel 4 and AMC’s sci-fi drama, Humans, has been commissioned for Series 3 with filming set to begin this autumn.

The series is based on the award-winning Swedish show Real Humans and made its debut in June 2015. The drama is written by Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent, and examines the impact on humans of artificial intelligence.

AMC boarded the project after the original partner, Xbox Entertainment Studios, was closed by Microsoft. The series won critical acclaim, going on to become Channel 4’s highest-rated drama since 1992.

The new run will comprise eight episodes and begins filming in the autumn. Vicki Delow will produce for Kudos; the executive producers are Derek Wax, Emma Kingsman-Lloyd, Vincent and Brackley for Kudos in association with Wild Mercury Productions, and Lars Lundstrom and Henrik Widman for Matador Films.

Wax and Diederick Santer, CEO of Kudos, said: “We are delighted to be working with Channel 4 and AMC once again on this compelling series. The world that Sam and Jon have so vividly created is set to unfold and reveal itself in even more meaningful, exciting and complex ways and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for our cast of incredible characters.”
