Benedict Cumberbatch drama films in August
Melrose, a new drama for Sky Atlantic and Showtime, is now in pre-production with filming due to begin in August.
Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Patrick Melrose, an aristocratic and outrageously funny playboy who battles to overcome his traumatic childhood.
One Day writer David Nicholls has penned the series, adapted from the series of semi-autobiographical novels by Edward St Aubyn. Location shooting will take place in London, New York and the south of France.
Cumberbatch also executive produces with Adam Ackland, his partner at SunnyMarch Productions, as well as Michael Jackson and Rachael Horovitz of Two Cities Television.
When the commission was announced, Cumberbatch and Ackland said: "We are delighted to be part of this incredible series. We have been huge fans of these books for many years and David Nicholls’ adaptations are extraordinary."
