Marcella 2 eyes summer shoot
The second series of ITV’s Marcella is preparing for a mid-summer shoot, with key hires already starting to attach.
The crime noir drama stars Anna Friel as the former detective who suffers from dissociative fugue - a temporary state of memory loss. The lead actor herself described the character as “vulnerable, complex, interesting” and said she was “fascinated by the fugue state”.
The 8 x 60 comes from Buccaneer Media and is written by the creator of The Bridge, Hans Rosenfeldt. The executive producers are Tony Wood, Nicola Larder and Rosenfeldt.
The writer has said of the character of Marcella: “I like flaws. I wanted to create a woman with no social skills. Happy people are boring to work with, and also in real life actually.”
